Dallas County Sheriff Citizens Academy
What Classes are included? Students are instructed in the areas of patrol, field enforcement procedures and 9-1-1, criminal courts and jail procedures, felony warrant service, criminal investigations are among the many classes taught. Instructors include deputies as well as civilian law enforcement personnel. Citizens Academy Mission: The Dallas County sheriff's goal is to educate citizens on the operations of the department through a series of lectures and hands-on activities. Through the program we hope to increase public awareness, open line of communication and increase rapport between Dallas County communities and the sheriff's department. Who can attend?
FAQ's Q: What are the registration requirements? A: There are three main items:
A: There is no fee to attend. Q: When do the classes meet? A: The academy class meets on Tuesday evenings at 6:00pm and end by 10:00 p.m. There are two Saturdays scheduled for K9, sheriff's posse, tactical and firearms demonstrations. Q: Can we bring something to eat and drink? A: Dinner and refreshments are provided before each Tuesday night class at no cost! Q: What can I wear to class? A: Each student will be provided with an academy shirt at no cost and the proper dress and protocol for the academy class will be explained. |
